Powfoot

An interesting mix of links and parkland, Powfoot golf course was opened in 1903 but re-designed by James Braid in 1923. With limited space the course does not go "out and back" in traditional links style but has many changes of direction, and variety of holes. When the wind is up golfers will need to contend with ever changing impact on their play.

The golf course is set in a beautiful location on the Solway Firth, in the very south of Scotland, with delightful scenery all around and views across the Firth to the Lake District. The links holes, which cover most of the course, feature extensive gorse and rough. The final few holes are parkland.

Powfoot is considered one of Scotland's true golfing gems, off the normal beaten golf tourist trail.
