What is striking about Fraserburgh is the massive dunes in which the golf course is set. This is a very enjoyable links experience right up on the top of the North Aberdeenshire coast at a much lower cost to more renowned courses closer to the city of Aberdeen.

Fraserburgh is the oldest golf course north of St Andrews, having been founded in 1777. The current Corbiehill layout, which is to championship standard, was a re-design by famed Scottish golf architect James Braid. The course is renowned for its undulating fairways and variety of different types of hole, especially the four par threes.

The course is wonderfully natural, well as natural as anywhere with greens protected by deep bunkers can be. The Corbiehill course has the feel of a golf course that was laid out a long time ago, retaining the natural terrain, when course management was more important to a successful round than pure length.

The golf course is well protected by the dunes and sand hills that fringe the length of Fraserburgh Bay and offers fine panoramic views particularly from the 3rd Tee with a spectacular vista of sand, sea, links and the Buchan landscape. The first hole is deceptive, being a flat start, but you are quickly surrounded by the dunes and most of the holes have a very different character to the start.

In addition Fraserburgh has an interesting 9 hole Rosehill course with a Par 33.

Fraserburgh Golf Club is very welcoming to visiting golfers and is also happy for visitors to play from the medal tees should they wish.
