The Glen Golf Club enjoys a stunning setting for golf to the east of North Berwick. From the 1st hole the course enjoys a clifftop setting from where golfers enjoy some of the best views on the East Lothian coast – looking out across the Firth of Forth to the Bass Rock, a renowned bird sanctuary. Those superb views come at the cost of a stiff climb to the 1st green but are well worth it.

Holes are varied and testing. They change in direction, rather than simply being 'out and back' so the impact of the wind changes as you progress around the course. Careful club selection is vital. The golf course plays all year round and is seldom closed by weather, normally playing full greens and tees.

The Glen golf course is a very enjoyable mix of traditional links and inland style holes. The course signature hole, the 13th, has been likened to Pebble Beach. The blind shot to the green has to be judged carefully to avoid the beach and rocks that await a wayward shot. The final drive from the 18th tee is from a highly elevated tee looking back across the clubhouse towards North Berwick.

Golf has been played at this location since the 17th century. The current course was originally laid out as 9 holes in 1894 and was extended to 18 holes in 1906 to a design created by renowned Scottish golf architects James Braid and Ben Sayers.
