Craigielaw

Craigielaw opened in 2001 and has proven to be a challenging links, worthy of the many other fine golf courses in the surrounding area of East Lothian. This championship standard course was designed by Donald Steel & Co and was inspired by traditional British links.

The course has hosted a number of national events including the Scottish Amateur Strokeplay Championship and was a qualifying course for the 2007 British Seniors Open at Muirfield.

While the land is flat the challenge comes from the tricky, quality, greens, and cavernous bunkers. The greens tend to be hard and fast but true. Most are plateau greens giving the added challenge of successfully landing your approach shot. Accuracy and a strong fairway position are both essential to achieving a good score here.

There are beautiful views across the Firth of Forth to Fife from all around the course, as well as to Edinburgh and across to Gullane Hill. This area has been called Scotland's Golf Coast due to the abundance of quality links in a relatively small area.

Four star accommodation is available on site at the modern and well presented 25 bedroom Lodge at Craigielaw.
