Old Course Hotel

Number of rooms: 144

The 5 star Old Course Hotel sits in a prime position alongside the famous 17th 'Road Hole' of the St Andrews Old course, with stunning views across the St Andrews links to the West Sands and the Fife coastline.

A full resort hotel with 144 rooms, including 35 suites, the Old Course Hotel is only a 5 minute walk to the heart of the town of St Andrews. The Hotel offers a large and well equipped Spa, a choice of restaurants, bars, a pub, golf shop and its own championship golf course, inland from the town, The Duke's. The Road Hole Restaurant and Road Hole Bar enjoy wonderful views across the St Andrews Links golf courses from the fourth floor of the Hotel.

Rooms are all good sized and range from inland facing Eden rooms to Old course facing Suites and Deluxe Suites, some with private balconies. Rooms have high quality furnishings and are comfortable and well presented.

There is a mix of contemporary and traditional design. Eden and Old course room bathrooms are more compact and have baths with showers over, while Suites have larger bathrooms with separate baths and showers.

The Old Course Hotel is not just for golfers. The resort offers a welcoming luxury base for those simply wishing to soak up the atmosphere of the University town of St Andrews, or to visit the surrounding area of the Kingdom of Fife.

A major re-furbishment programme is taking place between January 2017 and the middle of April 2017, during which time the Old Course Hotel will be closed.

Golf:

The Old Course Hotel has its own championship golf course, The Duke's, just outside of the town. Originally designed by 5 times Open Champion, Peter Thompson, the Duke's is a challenging inland heathland course with panoramic views from above St Andrews over the town to the sea.

A transfer service is available from the Hotel to the Duke's golf course, which is about 4 miles from the Old Course Hotel.

St Andrews could occupy a full week of golf on its own with 10 golf courses in or close to the town and a further dozen courses within half an hour's drive of the Old Course Hotel.

Dining:

Guests have a choice of restaurants. The fourth floor Road Hole Restaurant has 3 AA rosettes and beautiful views both over the 17th hole of the Old course to the sea, and up the 18th hole of the golf course towards the town.

The Sands Grill on the ground floor of the hotel is a more relaxed venue specialising in seafood and steak.

Food is also served at the Hams Hame Pub and Grill and the historic Jigger Inn. The Duke's course Clubhouse serves food throughout the day.

Leisure:

The large Spa includes a 20 metre swimming pool and thermal suite as well as a fitness centre with cardio equipment, resistance machines and free weights. There is also a roof top hot tub. Spa packages and a wide range of treatments are available.
