Burts Hotel is in a traditional building in the heart of the pretty Borders town of Melrose. Full of
character, this listed building has 20 individually styled bedrooms. Most of the bedrooms have been
recently re-furbished to a high standard, with modern bathrooms and comfortable, stylish furnishings
in soft tones. Rooms are welcoming and relaxing. As in common with older buildings the bedrooms
vary in size and layout.
Downstairs there is both a formal restaurant and a large bar area that is popular for bar meals. Burts
has an excellent reputation for food, made with quality local ingredients.
The hotel is family run and offers a warm welcome.
Melrose is a small town set amidst the rolling Borders hills. The main street has a number of small
independent shops for browsing. There are many points of interest nearby including Abbotsford House
and Melrose Abbey, one of the impressive Borders Abbeys.
Golf
There are around a dozen courses within a 30 minute drive of Burts Hotel, including
Melrose,
Selkirk and
St Boswells Golf Clubs. The championship
and challenging Roxburghe course
is less than 45 minutes away.

Please note
Burts is a traditional, and listed, historic building. There is no lift at the property and there are no
ground floor bedrooms. Rooms are up either one or two flights of stairs. Some rooms have baths with shower
over, other have walk in showers. If you have a preference please mention this to the Hotel when booking.
Dining
Food is served in the bar at both lunchtime and evenings. The Restaurant is open every evening and also
Sunday lunchtime. Private dining is also available for groups.
