The Ardgowan Hotel is a 36 bedroom family run hotel in an ideal location in St Andrews – just an iron shot from the Old course, or 5 minutes stroll to the very heart of the town. This 3 star hotel offers a warm welcome and good quality accommodation.

The hotel is laid out across several terraced properties. Rooms vary in size and layout, and include singles, doubles, twins and deluxe rooms. All rooms are comfortable and well presented.

Six rooms are in the adjoining building, the Pilmour, all of which have a slightly different character to the main Ardgowan rooms.

Golf:

The Ardgowan is less than 5 minutes' walk to the 1st tee at the Old course and in an ideal location for playing all 6 St Andrews Links courses at the west side of the town, including the New and Jubilee courses.

St Andrews could occupy a full week of golf on its own with 10 golf courses in or close to the town and around 15 further courses within half an hour's drive of the town.

Please note:

Bathroom layouts at the Ardgowan Hotel vary. Most rooms offer an ensuite shower room, but a few rooms do have baths. If you have a particular preference please mention this to the Hotel when booking.

There is no lift at the Ardgowan so most rooms require going up one or two flights of stairs. There are stairs from the street to the main front door and reception area and the breakfast room and restaurant are down one flight of stairs.

The Ardgowan Hotel does not on-site parking but there is limited on street free parking nearby. Guests with cars may have to pay for parking a little distance from the hotel.

Dining:

The Playfair's restaurant at the hotel has an AA rosette and has established a reputation for good quality food. It serves both lunch and dinner. Food is also served in the Playfair's Bar. The bar is on the ground floor of the Pilmour building and has 7 big screens for watching sport.
