On the waterfront, near to the Apex Hotel, can be found both the Frigate Unicorn, the World's last intact warship from the days of sail, and the RRS Discovery, used in the 1901 British Antarctic Expedition led by Captain Robert Falcon Scott. The V&A Museum of Design Dundee opened in 2018, the first design museum in the UK outside of London.
